The highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has hit a snag, as it has been postponed. Most Valuable Promotions, the organizing body, made the announcement on Friday, revealing that the bout originally slated for July 20 will be delayed. This decision comes after Tyson sought medical attention for an ulcer flare-up, which occurred on Sunday.

Tyson explained that medical professionals advised him to scale back his training regimen for a few weeks to allow for rest and recovery, prompting the postponement of the match. Both Tyson and Paul have agreed that it’s essential to ensure that both athletes have equal preparation time to compete at their best.

The bout is still scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but it will be rescheduled for later this year. The official date will be announced next week by Most Valuable Promotions.

Tyson’s health scare occurred during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, where he experienced dizziness and nausea. He was attended to by first responders upon landing, and subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Although Tyson expressed feeling back to normal by Tuesday, he has been advised to take some time off from his rigorous training routine. He expressed gratitude to his fans for their support and understanding during this period, assuring them that he will return to his full training schedule soon.

Paul, too, expressed support for the delay, emphasizing the importance of Tyson being in peak condition for their matchup. He pledged to be fully prepared for the bout, promising a sensational finish when they eventually step into the ring.
