Reflecting on her past, Kristin Cavallari opened up about the toll her “unhappy” marriage took on her physical health.

During an episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, the former “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” star, now 37, revealed that stress from her relationship with Jay Cutler led her to become “very thin” while filming her reality show “Very Cavallari.”

“I’ll give you guys some context,” she shared. “I’m 5’3″. Currently, I weigh 114 pounds. During ‘Very Cavallari,’ I dropped to 102, despite eating the same amount of food I do now. The difference was, I was incredibly unhappy and stressed out.”

Cavallari and Cutler tied the knot in 2013 but announced their divorce in 2020. Earlier this year, Cavallari confirmed her relationship with new boyfriend Mark Estes, who is 24, and addressed criticism regarding their age gap.

“Very Cavallari,” which chronicled Cavallari’s life with the former NFL quarterback, aired from 2018 to 2020.

Reflecting on that time, the “Hills” star admitted that looking back at photos, she couldn’t believe how “rail” thin she was. “I was skin and bones,” she recalled. “I feel so much healthier now. Back then, it was just stress. It was being in a really unhappy marriage, to be honest. I mean, truly. I was so miserable.”

Cavallari also acknowledged that she had taken on “way too much” during that period, which exacerbated her marital issues. “I was so unhappy that I was trying to push myself to the limit,” she explained.

However, she emphasized that she is now prioritizing her well-being in ways she didn’t back then, including regular exercise and ample rest. “Lifting heavier weights has helped me gain muscle,” she noted.

In 2020, Cavallari addressed her divorce on Instagram, describing it as “the situation of two people growing apart” and expressing gratitude for the years shared and their three children.

In a subsequent interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed that she and Cutler had “tried everything” to salvage their marriage but ultimately weren’t happy. She also explained that she chose to end “Very Cavallari” to avoid discussing her divorce on camera, believing that some things should remain private.
